Over the last two years, I’ve spent a considerable amount of time reworking my skincare and makeup routines. You guys know that I’ve had a long skin journey, from the days of accutane as a teen to stubborn skin as an adult, it’s been a long haul! I realized that I had to find products that worked with my complexion, not against it and didn’t attempt to hide it! I have combination skin that gets super easily dehydrated and can result in over production of oil, and my pores on my cheeks are a bit enlarged with some scarring. But, quality skincare and makeup can be a bit expensive sometimes. I found myself going through a lot of trial and error, noticing that the price tag doesn’t necessarily equate quality. So,I was super excited when Beauty Pie reached out to have me try their products because, you guys, their approach and model is so cool and honestly, just super practical!
Beauty Pie is a luxury beauty brand and membership club that allows you to buy premium products directly from the best of the best suppliers and formulators, cutting out that middleman cost markup. Beauty Pie was founded by Marcia Kilgore, the industry guru who founded brands like Bliss, and added something really unique to the beauty landscape. I had heard some pretty amazing things about the brand from a few bloggers I would take any recommendation from (like my friend Maddy Gutierrez), and it did not disappoint. When I tried it, everything from the presentation to the actual products felt luxurious and like a real treat (but without the treat price tag). You don’t need to sign up for the membership to shop (although, it’s just $59 a year), but man, do I think it’s worth it.
With the $59 Beauty Pie annual membership, you can get up to 75% off traditional retail prices for everything from beauty to wellness! I cannot stress enough the quality product you get for the value, I was actually pretty blown away. When I went to try the products I had some reservations if they would really live up to the hype – but I was very quickly proven wrong and it’s safe to say that Beauty Pie has earned a permanent place in my beauty routine. I also just love their website, it has a lot of educational materials, it’s incredibly transparent, and I feel like I entered a chic beauty heaven. So, I wanted to walk you through the products I tried, what I love and why. I’ll break it out by makeup and skincare!
MAKEUP:
Future Lipstick ($11.50, typical retail price $30): I am so incredibly picky about lipstick quality, and this is probably one of my favorite lipsticks of all time. It’s definitely my favorite Beauty Pie makeup product, too! It’s a high-shine, moisturizing lipstick that feels lightweight but wears beautifully. I got the shade “naked pink”.
All In Wonder Illuminating Primer ($11.09, typical retail price $32): I’ve really learned to embrace glowy skin and the natural dew that our complexions create. I am a sucker for all the “glowy” products, but honestly there’s a fine line between glowy and looking like you’re straight up sweating. This primer gives the perfect glow under your base or you can wear as is, it evens, glows and doesn’t make you oily. Packed with vitamin E and Diamond Core Powder, it’s light and breezy.
Uber Volume Mascara ($9.86, typical retail price $30): I’m someone who goes from looking fresh to racoon eyes real quick, so mascaras can be a tough sell for me. I have been wearing this all day and even have gone on walks with a friend and I had no smudging, no racoon eyes. It has shea butter and vitamin E and gives a really natural look, nothing clumpy.
Supercheek Cream Blush ($9.89, typical retail price $35): I’m a cream and liquid blush person, through and through! I found that they give a more natural look and my skin carries cream blushes better than powder. It’s so fluid, so blendable, and dries with a matte looking finish so it’s not making you look oily. I also dab it on my lips! I got color “bare blush”. One of the best cream blush formulas I’ve tried (I’ve tried a lot).
SKINCARE:
Super Retinol Vitamin C Overnight Renewal ($18.87, typical retail price $80): I’ll be honest, I’m a little sensitive to retinols so this product took me a little getting used to, but once I found my groove I really enjoy it. I’m super careful about mixing Vitamin-C and retinols, and this swiss formula has a safe and effective balance that brightens and firms. Mainly, because it’s an all-in-one moisturizer, you’re minimizing the amount of product you’re putting on your face. I’ll use it a couple of nights a week and wake up feeling fresh! This is a great product, just ease into this one.
Japanfusion Genius Lift Elixer $11.52, typical retail price $40): I saved my favorite for last, this elixir is almost magic-like. Unlike a lot of serums, it almost has a silk finish and isn’t super tacky or oily. It plumps, brightens, balances and leaves you hydrated. I put it on right before my moisturizer and just cannot get enough. It won the British Vogue Beauty Award for “The Ultimate Skin Saviour” in 2021 just to put into perspective how good it is.
That’s all for now! I think I might even make a Beauty Pie series as I work my way through the line. Quality for the price point is truly unmatched in my opinion. Don’t forget, “ELSASENTME” for $10 off your purchase of an annual membership with Beauty Pie!
