Part two of my warm weather event dress guide is here! In case you missed it, part 1 covers dresses for casual, cocktail and bridal events. Part 2 (this post) covers black tie and black tie optional dresses! I broke it out into two sections, black tie (formal, floor length dresses) and black tie optional (dressier cocktail and midi dresses). From there, I grouped dresses by size range (up to xxl and true plus size), since I know a lot of you are in that l/xl to plus range, I like to include both!
For the black tie options, keep in mind that I tried to include a variety of styles for different black tie settings. A lot of you said you had tropical destination black tie or outdoor summer black tie weddings to attend, so I included some fun options! If you’re heading into a ballroom setting, I also included some more evening black tie options as well. Really, whatever you prefer! But know that some may work better in certain settings than others, but all fit the dress code bill so to speak.
Also, as a general rule of thumb, always double check your measurements vs the size chart for evening dresses. Some brands I always size up in like BHLDN, some I size down in. It all depends, so make sure you just take a quick look at the size chart!
