My mindset heading into summer is all about elevated ease. Knowing I will be heading back to the office in September, I want to remain comfortable and casual this summer, but also have pieces that I can elevate for the workplace. With the right shoes, maybe a pair of ballet flats, mules of block heels, this polo dress would be super cute for work and for everyday. I may sound like a broken record, but I am so ecstatic that polos are more on trend now than they have been in recent years.
Anything with a collar just feels so polished, but with a polo style, you don’t need to fret about button gaping or breathability (if it’s cotton). This adorable polo dress from Lands’ End exceeded my expectations, I’m such a fan! It comes in regular and plus. T-shirt type dresses are great, but I always have trouble with the fit being long enough. This polo dress feels like a t-shirt dress, but I think it looks a little more special and the collar makes it instantly pulled together. Plus, the length is perfect enough where it covers enough in the back white still feeling light and summery.
I find that it runs true to size, and I am wearing the XL regular (my current size is a 14w/16w). With Lands’ End, I find they generally run normally, and their plus size proportions are fantastic. Whenever I purchase something from them, fit is never really a concern. I am also a 1x in Lands’ End and usually can wear both XL and 1X sizes with ease. In this dress, I would go with whatever your true size is. The terry cotton is super breathable and has some stretch to it as well. I love that the arms aren’t too tight or short, it’s just so liveable.
I also have it in the navy blue color with the white pinstripe collar. I find myself wearing it with flip flops, sneakers, ballet flats and as a cover-up too. If you golf, I imagine it would be great for that as well because of the length. Here’s to an easy, elevated summer as we safely inch our way back to a new normal.
