As we get deeper into the season, I find that I really lean into my accessories. Whether it’s shoes, a great bag, a scarf or poncho, I find that the right accessories have the power to tell a story. They’re the effortless finishing touches that pull everything together, taking a simple or blank look and making it something special. The main reason I love accessories? They work on so many bodies. Anyone and everyone can sport a great top-handle bag, regardless of size. J. McLaughlin always has a sophisticated, modern and swoon-worthy assortment of accessories that can really take you places. Let’s chat about why I adore these J. McLaughlin accessories so much. This Garnet Poncho is everything. The lines and drapery are so elegant, not to mention flattering. The knit feels so luxe, yet it is substantial and moves well. The grey and black leopard print is the perfect “pop” to my simple base look of black leggings and a t-shirt. You’d never guess that I was in a lounge outfit underneath, because the accents completely elevate it! My favorite touch is the matching Marceline gloves (they are tech friendly). This set could take me right to a show at our downtown theater, a cozy date night, or out to brunch with a girlfriend.
I paired the leopard pieces with J. McLaughlin’s Cindy handbag. I have never been so smitten with a bag. The black lacquer bamboo handles with the [chenille] is a fall/winter take on the traditional summer bamboo. It’s an elegant bag, while being practical enough that you can take it on errands and around town. So perfect. The Aida boots are so ideal, the block heel is an easy yet substantial height where it elevates the look (literally and figuratively), while maintaining comfort. The suede looks so nicely with casual pants like my leggings, or with jeans or a dress, too. The gold bamboo zipper is such a darling touch.
I also styled my boots and bag with this cashmere Kaya colorblock poncho, because versatile accessories have no bounds! Ponchos are perfect for everyday, and would look just as darling over denim. The cable knit detail is so classic. You can mix and match good accessories with any look, and these are no exception.
