Greenpoint Turtleneck, c/o
It’s the start of cozy season, and what better time than now to dive into one of my favorite brands, Dudley Stephens! Dudley Stephens is a female-founded brand that focuses on all things fleece. From their coveted turtlenecks, to joggers and jackets, they have it all. They aim for sustainability, and make all of their materials from recycled yarn. Aside from the fact their fleece is super soft, their designs are incredibly classic and chic. Their size range goes up to an XXL (18/20), and a lot of their styles SO work well on curves. I am a 1x, and I wear the xxl comfortably. They do not have plus sizes yet, but I keep my fingers crossed! I can confidently say, however, that if you are between or around 1x, the xxl will likely work. Give it a try, you never know!
On a daily basis, I get questions about my Dudleys: the fit, the styles, how I wear them etc. So, I thought it would be great to walk through some of their core styles covering all things fit and style. Dudley recently launched a comprehensive fit guide by size (which I was so honored to be part of), that is a great reference tool for sizing, as well! I am going to walk you through five of their core tops/turtlenecks, how they run, their fit, what size I wear in each, and how they work on curves.
MY KEY TIPS + TAKEAWAYS
If you are in-between sizes, generally size up, as the fleeces have a tailored fit. Their fleeces come in a few materials, the main two being Vello and Terry. Vello is a traditional, plush fleece, and Terry is a lighter weight fleece that feels like terry cloth and traditional fleece mixed together. I love them both for different reasons, Terry is definitely better for summer! These also wash and hold up over time very well, I wash mine inside out on a gentle cycle and air dry them. They are definitely worth the price. I wear mine more than any item in my closet. They look good dressed up, dressed down, and instantly bring equal parts style and comfort.
GREENPOINT TURTLENECK, VELLO
Greenpoint Vello c/o
Dudley’s newnest style might just be my favorite! The Greenpoint is a medium length turtleneck that hits mid-hip, covering about half of your bottom. It was introduced as an in-between length for the Park Slope and Cobble Hill styles. This particular style is without pockets, leaving a smooth look. The extra length is perfect for curves, because it gives a little more wiggle room and coverage.
The fit here is tailored, but there is extra room in the mid-section and bodice. Curvy tip: if you like the style of the Park Slope but have a longer torso, opt for the Greenpoint! I wear the xxl.

BRIGHTON BOATNECK, VELLO
Brighton Vello c/o
The Brighton Boatneck is definitely more fitted. I love my boatnecks and it’s the perfect piece to grab when I want to feel cozy, but don’t need the full warmth and coverage of a turtleneck. The Brighton hits right at the hip. This has a slim, feminine fit throughout the body, arms and chest. If you are curvy and long-torsoed and/or have a larger chest, I would suggest sizing up. I like to wear mine with high-waisted jeans or over a dress.
The fit here is slimmer, but similar to the park slope. The neckline is very open and comfortable! Curvy tip: if you are curvy, I style this with high waisted pieces to pull up the bottom hem a bit and give more room in the bodice. I wear the xxl.

COBBLE HILL TURTLENECK, VELLO
Like the Greenpoint, the longer length of the Cobble Hill is very accommodating to curves! This is a tunic length, the longest of the Dudleys, and covers most of my bottom. The extra coverage goes a long way. It is a-line, but fitted around the bottom so you don’t feel like you have extra fabric. This style has pockets, so it is awesome for running errands or brisk walks over leggings. Katie Sturino recently rocked this style and looked flawless! This is an awesome option if you are long-torsoed, have a large chest or a larger midsection.
The fit here is roomy but structured, you have extra space in the bodice/mid-section and extra length for coverage. Curvy tip: if you need a little extra length for coverage or space, but want a lighter feel like the boatneck, fold the neck down and it becomes a lower collar. I wear the xl or xxl.

PARK SLOPE TURTLENECK, VELLO
The Park Slope is awesome for everyday. I wear this style all the time, especially when I want a lighter feel but that true turtleneck look. The length hits right at the hips and has a thicker bottom hem, giving a super polished look. The Park Slope style, in general, is curve-friendly due to the roomy nature in the bodice. However, if you have a longer torso, it may read shorter on you – but the style is intentionally not tunic like! I am 5’6ish and this works great on me. The lack of pockets also creates a lightweight, smooth feel.
The fit here is roomy but structured, plus, the vello has a bit more stretch than the terry. If you are in-between sizes, size up. Curvy tip: if you like the Cobble Hill, but do not want the extra fabric that comes with pockets or are on the shorter side, get the Park Slope. I wear the xxl.

PARK SLOPE TURTLENECK, TERRY
Park Slope Terry c/o
I love the Park Slope in Terry! As I mentioned, Terry is their light-weight fleece, perfect for summer or warmer months. The material is less plush to the touch compared to vello, but equally as comfortable. The Park Slope style in general is very curve-friendly due to the roomy nature in the bodice. Like any of their turtlenecks, you can also fold the collar down if you want a lower neck.
The fit here is comfortable and structured, with the less-fitted midsection, it works well on large chests. Curvy tip: if you overheat in your chest easily (like I do!), the terry is a great option. It’s breathability is awesome. I wear the xxl.

Thank you Dudley Stephens for sponsoring this post. As always, all opinions are that of my own.
