Two weeks into June, can you believe it? Funny enough, my Summer wardrobe is half the size of my Winter one, yet I get “dressed up” way more in the Summer. There’s just something about Summer colors and fabrics that make my heart sing. I also find that Summer clothing embodies fun silhouettes, feminine details, ruffles and flair. All things that I used to stay away from, because I was under the misconception that I couldn’t pull them off with my curves. But I am here to tell you that is not the case! There are definitely shapes that just work better on curvy or plus-size bodies, there is no denying that, but never limit your style out of fear that something feminine or fun might not work!

When I saw this adorable ruffle neck wildflower blouse, I knew it would be the perfect curve-friendly, understated statement. For a quick recap, their in-house line goes up to an xxl and fits perfectly for anyone in the 1x range (I usually wear an xl or xxl depending, in this one I’m in the xxl). This top might just be up there with how much I love Tuckernuck’s Easton blouse.

The ruffle is so feminine and hits at the perfect spot, still giving my neck length. You can also make the neck slightly looser or tighter depending on your desired comfort level, because it simply ties in the back. Can we talk about the bow for a second?! It. is. Everything. In the body, the a-line, swing silhouette is flattering yet flowy. The perfect mix if you ask me. The material has a little stretch and is not necessarily thick, but it is substantial and works for both warm and chilly summer nights. They also have a sleeveless version that I’ve got my eye on. With our shelter in place order being lifted and some restaurants in town beginning to open, I can’t wait to (safely) wear this everywhere!!
