Dudley Stephens Brighton Boatneck size xxl (c/o), Dress size 18
Hi guys! Happy Friday. Today, I am styling the Dudley Stephens Brighton Boatneck 3 ways with my friend Sarah. If you don’t know Sarah, she has the happiest and most polished closet. I love her daily looks, classic style with preppy touches and pretty color palette. We both love Dudley Stephens fleeces, and thought it would be fun to style them together showing how they look on two real, and different, body types!
Quick overview, the Brighton Boatneck is a slimmer Dudley style. I have it in both camel and black, and love it. I find that if you are in-between sizes and have a large chest, always best to size up. If you want a looser fit or have a longer torso, their Cobble Hill and Park Slope styles are more a-line through the body. Whereas the Brighton has a slimmer, more feminine fit. I also was honored to be part of the Dudley Stephens’ Fit Guide where I cover all the info on sizing, as well as my measurements! I wear the XXL here and I am a true 16w.
OVER A DRESS OR SKIRT
I love wearing my Dudley’s over a dress or skirt because it is an unexpected yet stylish way to pull them together. Since the fleeces are structured, they can be dressed up and look totally intentional. Here, I wore mine over a poplin maxi dress with sandals. This is a great over-a-dress fleece because it is not too long and you can roll or tuck it under for a more copped look. Also a great transitional style for in-between summer and fall.

CLASSIC WITH DENIM AND FLATS
The number one way I wear my Dudleys, with jeans! This is a great, easy Fall look. I paired my camel Brighton Boatneck with my favorite blue denim and cap toe flats. I like this look for everyday errands and working from home. The Brighton almost feels like a top meets a fleece, so its easy to run around in on days that are warm but not yet too chilly.

OVER THE SHOULDERS
For the longest time, I didn’t think to drape my Dudley as an accent or extra layer. I am so glad I started thinking in this mindset! Wearing over the shoulders gives a classic, old school feel. But, it is also practical! You can throw it on if you get cold and look extra chic and cozy at the same time. I paired mine with a pleated midi skirt and classic striped Breton. But you can really wear it draped over any look!
Yesss! I live for a Dudley over a skirt or dress on chilly summer nights or transitioning to fall! Totally going to copy the over the shoulder look because its perfect! Hope you are having a happy September, friend 🙂
