Can you believe April is almost over?! The month has flown by while simultaneously feeling like it is moving at a glacial pace (Miranda Priestly, ha). This week, I took a step back from extra social media and focused on projects and things that I had been struggling to dedicate time to in my new routine (I think we can all relate)! I am finally in a rhythm that works for me when it comes to self care and these happy hobbies while in quarantine. Here are some highlights ICYMI or things I didn’t have a chance to share:
– I started The Jetsetters! The Jetsetters by Amanda Ward has gotten a plethora of mixed reviews, and the Times review was okay, but not great. It was Reese’s book of the month select, so I still have high hopes! I just started it, but am struggling a bit to move through it. I don’t dislike it so far and really want to give it a fair shot, you never know when a plot will hook you. As usual, once I finish it, I will give my honest opinion in the next On My Bookshelf. I also did a book share with some friends on Instagram this week! My quarantine picks are below.
– I took a virtual tour of the MoMA Judd Exhibition. Every Thursday, MoMA has “Virtual Views” where curators walk us through an exhibition and do a q&a. I studied Donald Judd in graduate school, so this was really a pleasure to watch. If you want to take something in that is a departure from Netflix and Instagram stories, this is for you! Next week’s Virtual View is on Dorothea Lange, I’ll be tuning in for sure.
– I created more time to needlepoint! For a while during quarantine, I was only needlepointing on the weekends, a big shift for me! Needlepoint is really good for clearing my head, and I love the creative aspect, too. I finished a cute ginger jar canvas this week and sat outside with some pinot noir and returned to a project I started a few weeks ago, the chill pill! If you have any questions on how to get started, let me know or check out my post on it here.
– I started a new Journaling Bible! I used a journaling Bible back when I converted to Catholicism, but that one is filled to the brim and special for me. So, my friend Jennifer recommended a few, and I chose the Blessed is She Catholic Journaling Bible for Women. There are so many great journaling Bibles on Amazon for all denominations or whichever version of The Word you follow. I am excited to take this quarantine time to journal from the very beginning and compare my thoughts years later.
– I hit the Draper James Mother’s Day Shop! DJ merchandised an adorable assortment of gifts perfect for moms, and even more perfect for Mother’s Day at home! I love these adorable candles and this cute gingham robe. I won’t spoil what I ordered, becuase my mom and mother in law both read my blog! lol.

Hey there – I am enjoying the new direction your personal blog is taking. I live in Western Australia so a very different life but similar in many ways also!
I read The Jetsetters and it’s a slow starter. I finished it and whilst it’s never a 5* book it’s a nice read and gets better. I have read and agree with all your quarantine book selections so perhaps we have similar taste! Are you on Goodreads?
I hope you and your family are doing ok, take care.
Gilly
Enjoyed your week in review! Refreshing to read during these quarantine days.
