Coat (c/o Draper James), bodysuit, Spanx ponte leggings (c/o), boots (c/o), headband
A coat so nice, you can style it twice! I love anything blue, and this time of year, I love anything plaid. When I saw this reversible coat, I nearly stopped in my tracks. Draper James makes beautiful regular and extended-size garments. Everything from their dresses to their outerwear are so well done. I have a full review on their plus-sizes here. This coat is no exception, the detail and design are both outstanding. Plus, it goes up to a 3x!
When it comes to the coat itself, it is not lined. It is a heavy wool and I stay plenty warm in it. I imagine as the temperatures drop, I will layer a scarf and sweater under it. This is more of an elevated coat for everyday, but not one that I would wear in rain, snow, or to yoga. I would wear it to the grocery store over leggings, or over a little black dress over the holidays. There is no tag, the buttons are different on either side, and the seams are intentional. So, when you reverse it, both sides are equally well crafted.
The fit is fabulous. There is nothing more I loathe than a coat that fits everywhere but then is too snug in the bum and hips. It runs big, has an oversized yet tailored feel, and it’s a true swing silhouette. If you want a more fitted coat, or are in between sizes, size down. I wear mine buttoned completely, draped over my shoulders, or open and fold the center seams over to show more of the opposite pattern. I think it is so chic, so classic and so fun. And, it is double the coat!
