Happy Sunday! As I’m writing this, I’m cozy under a blanket, sipping a very large, very hot cup of coffee, and have about 1000 Chrome tabs open. They are all things that I either love, feel are inspiring or helpful, or caught my eye. I’m always eager to share more of my findings with you, as if we were sitting down for a cup of coffee, catching up and chatting about the latest piece we read or sweater we snagged. So, I thought it would be great to have a recurring post that acts as home for this, with three main parts: Catch up, Shopping, and Reading & Watching, sharing them friend to friend. I do most of my perusing and writing with a cup of joe, so grab your coffee and let’s catch up!
COFFEE & CATCH UP
Wow, it has been a week! I know many of us are feeling stressed and anxious over the election and pandemic. So, I quadruple checked my voter registration status and took a slower week to relax and restore. During my cozy time I naturally ended up on Pinterest for seasonal inspiration and home office ideas. We’re refreshing our office to make it a more intentional and functional space. Nothing is changing furniture wise, just need a proper desk chair, paint and some new prints. So, I ordered Clare Paint samples, picked my color, and next week will begin the refresh! Stay tuned.
SUNDAY SHOPPING
ANTHROPOLOGIE A+ PLUS NEW ARRIVALS: I have shopped the A+ line a handful of times for some more occasion specific pieces, and I’ve never been disappointed. They used plus fit models to formulate their proportions, so the cuts are usually fantastic. I recently received and loved this tunic sweater.
J.JILL SIZE-INCLUSIVE OUTERWEAR: J. Jill is one of those brands that I keep meaning to talk more about. They are one of the few brands where I was able to find classic pieces in my size, before places like J. Crew and Madewell extended their assortments. You have to spot the classic pieces, but I’m here to do that for you! They have some cute and classic outerwear pieces right now. Their tunics, outerwear and leggings are truly some of the best!
A FIRST LOOK AT BALLARD HOLIDAY: Ballard released their Holiday products! I know it is early for Holiday. But, as someone who was in home decor buying and holiday assortment planning, trust me when I say the good stuff goes quickly. I love how they keep things simple, classic but cheerful. I especially love their ribbons and wrap!
MARK AND GRAHAM FALL HOME: Mark and Graham has some of the best home decor pieces for those with a modern day classic aesthetic, especially if you love a monogram. I enjoy their throw blankets and trays. Easy pieces you can layer over a coffee table or sofa to cozy up your space. I also love their women’s handbag new arrivals.
Here are some more of my size-inclusive and home finds from week:
SUNDAY READING & WATCHING
ONE KINGS LANE TASTEMAKER EDIT SERIES: I am so happy that OKL resurrected a new version of their Tastemaker series! I was on the Vintage team at One Kings Lane for a few years, and know how much heart and soul goes into everything. The Tastemaker series highlights a design figure, shares their story with an interview, and includes a curated, shoppable edit! A recent favorite is Corey Damen Jenkins.
NY TIMES INTERACTIVE GUIDE TO VOTING: If there is anything you take away from this post, it is to register to vote! I found this New York Times interactive guide to be helpful. You fill out a few questions like your state, and it will show you how to register, how to vote in person or by mail, and key dates and sites for your state.
MEGHAN’S STAY AT HOME FALL BUCKET LIST: I love getting lost on Meghan’s blog, Wit & Whimsy. Her stay at home fall bucket list has so many good suggestions for life in our new normal. Two favorites include “Conduct some armchair travel” and “make a harvest-inspired meal”. There are endless other great ideas here.
BOOB SWEAT PODCAST BY KATIE STURINO “FAMILY & BODY IMAGE”: I am fortunate that my family members, both new and old, have never made comments about my figure. But, I get questions related to this topic everyday, and this episode felt useful for those struggling with this topic, especially leading into the holidays! It’s packed with real talk, advice and comfort.
I have long loved JJill’s clothes.
Likewise! They have always remained dedicated to extended sizes and quality, I am so glad you love them, too!
Great new series, Els!! I am secretly so excited to decorate for the holidays this year, and just spent an embarrassing amount of time scrolling through the Ballard site lol. Stay cozy, friend 🙂
