Before quarantine, I had set and photographed my kitchen table for a Spring brunch, and when I was revisiting the photos, I thought about how we’re all dining at home more than ever. While we’re home, it is the perfect time to take out your favorite napkin rings and place settings for a change of pace. Whether it’s for yourself, your family, or the few friends you ended up quarantined with, setting the table brings warmth throughout any home. It creates the. best. feeling. I just get so happy when I set the table, and when it comes time for me to do so, I find using pieces that I love, will have forever, and speak to my style, makes the process way more special.
Aside from heirlooms and vintage pieces, I seem to always find my favorite tabletop things from Juliska! Their pieces are gorgeous, and when you hold one, you just know the quality will stand the test of time. I wanted to create a simple setting using Juliska’s pieces, and bring Spring in with color, pattern, and texture. I built this tablescape around the Tuileries placemat and Floretta napkin, because they reminded me of an English garden party (I watch a lot of Downton Abbey lol). From there, I created layers with the Classic Bamboo Dinner Plate, Jardins du Monde salad plate, and Bamboo Natural napkin ring. I tied in more of the Classic Bamboo pattern with my serving pieces (11″ Classic Bamboo Serving Bowl), without getting too matchy (I love a good mix). The Classic Bamboo Natural Cocktail Triple Server is the BEST, I have in in the Berry & Thread pattern, too. My most used piece!
For finishing touches, I kept it simple with a few fresh hydrangea. We have an antique English Pine breakfast table and white hydgrangeas really brighten it up! Right now, since we aren’t making frequent trips to the grocery, I am using these faux ones and liking the quality for the price point. The best part about this tablescape? I used it for the week following (washing the dishes, of course) and it really encouraged us to slow down, unplug, and spend quiet time together, which is something we all need more of–even during quarantine!
Thank you Juliska for partnering on this post.
My first time to your site and I will be back. Lovely
