This morning: This morning, I slept a few minutes more, which I really savored with the sound of the rain and wind. I love that feeling. So, I rose around 6:15, listened to a devotional while I brushed my teeth and got dressed, and sat down with a cup of coffee. Then of course, wrote this blurb. It was a slow morning, not packed with much, but it was just what I needed. Due to the rain, planning to journal and curl up in the window nook before the workday.
Today’s outfit: Two-tone poplin popover (obsessed with the blue under the collar and on the cuffs), easy jeans, ballet flats. I know, it’s hot out, but with the rain, I want something polished yet comfy. Popover always does the trick.
Today’s to-do: As usual, from 8:30-6 I’ll be at work. Our apartment building re-opened our club room, which has a great vibe, so I think I’ll head there to work for a few hours for a change of pace! I picked up some new coffee, so I’m excited to sip on it throughout the day. I’m also going on a technology free walk-jog after work. It feels like we’re constantly connected and measuring our productivity, even when exercising, which I am so guilty of. So, I want to just go on a run or walk to simply enjoy, without being tied to a phone!
Today’s intention: Focus. Sometimes I feel like that word can rub people the wrong way depending on it’s use, but it’s an important word for me! Today, I want to focus on what’s in front of me. I tend to suffer from compassion fatigue, in addition to empathy, I really carry the weight of others’ emotions or obstacles with me. It was what drove me to be a peace maker and people pleaser most of my life (and I don’t think either one are bad things in moderation). But, today I am focusing on what’s in front of me, while being there for others in the way that I can.
Love this new series! Definitely brought some peace & inspiration to my morning!
What a great post! I’m going to begin bookmarking to come back to read more regularly. Also – I love the idea of “listening” to a devotional. Which one? And which audio format do you use?
