This morning: It’s been a soothing morning so far. I woke up at 6 and made some extra hot coffee. It’s a shampoo day, so wet hair and all, I got dressed, and sat down with my prayer book/journal hybrid that I enjoy called “The Between Places.” It’s a good resource for anyone who is faith-oriented and struggling to rationalize the in-between stages of life and God’s proactive role in it all. Then, I snapped a selfie and sat down to write this blurb! I have about an hour or so before my workday starts, so maybe I’ll start a blog post or keep journaling and get some fresh air.
Today’s outfit: Striped summer sweater dress (30% off today, size down one! I am in xl). After time off, it’ll be a productive day at work, so I wanted to dress the part!
Today’s to-do: From 8:30-6 I’ll be at work (remotely). I feel like making a really great lunch, so we’ll see what I come up with. Tonight, I am going to head to our gym that reopened (yay) then finish up a fun blog post after dinner.
Today’s intention: Personal prioritization. Over the last couple of weeks, I did a lot of reflecting on prioritization. Not only in my personal life in terms of things around the house, budgets, and what sparks joy. But, also on relationship prioritization, and in what ways, or if at all, prioritization, showing up, or support is reciprocated by those I value. I don’t mean do they put me first, because I want friends to put themselves first. I mean, supporting and being there in the ups and downs while on a two way street. It’s also not a bad thing to see others’ values and prioritizations shift, even if you serve them differently, it means you are part of their own growth. But, it can be a hard pill to swallow. Outside of work, I think reflecting on this and recalibrating will be something important for me to keep working on. It’s hard, but the best growth comes from those uneasy moments.
