Blue floral print or White linen version (plus sizes), Floral and solid version (regular sizes)
My color is currently sold out, but this style comes in white and a few other patterns! I linked all similar cuts, too.
I’ll be the first to admit that I was skeptical of Reformation’s extended sizes! I’ve always loved their romantic, chic vibe and great assortment of longer dresses. But, the largest standard size didn’t work on me and for the price point I didn’t want the garment to only kind of fit. GUYS, I tried their extended sizes and OH MY – THEY ARE SO GOOD! Actually, they aren’t just good, they’re great. I haven’t felt this fantastic in a dress in some time. The dress itself just feels special, I can see myself reaching for this five years down the road and still loving it (and the quality holding up as well).
This linen beauty has the sweetest details. From the floral print with the delicate bows, to the ruffle hemline, to the little bow at the chest, nothing was overlooked here! It isn’t busy whatsoever, in fact I would argue that it’s pretty subtle while still having eye catching moments. The straps have adjustable buttons, my only complaint would be the straps slip sometimes due to the nature of linen, but the bodice of the dress has enough structure that even if you removed your arms from the straps altogether, the dress would stay up! They stay in place most of the time, so not a huge concern. Something I really appreciated was that the linen isn’t super wrinkly either (not all linen is created equal).
Let’s talk sizing. I’ve heard that people feel Reformation runs small, but I found that wasn’t the case in the extended sizes. I am in-between a 14w and a 16w, usually a standard 16w. I actually opted for the 14w in this dress because the back of the chest was ruching and the skirt is so flowy! The 14w fit perfectly in this specific style. For this dress, if you are in-between sizes and in the extended size range, go down a size. If you are not in-between sizes or you are a standard size, I would order your regular size. The bodice is a bit longer, it sits right above/at the hips, which works so well for curves. Initially, I was concerned the waist was too low, but much to my surprise it hit at the perfect spot.
The quality is really lovely as well. It’s an expensive dress ($248) and Reformation offers Afterpay so you can pay as you go if that’s a more appealing option. I found that even though this is more of an investment, I’m really seeking fewer, better pieces in my closet, so for me personally it’s worth it. I would prefer to invest in one great dress I’ll have for years, feel absolutely fantastic in it, and wear it constantly, than a few dresses that will only last one season that I’m not completely in love with. Plus, Reformation is sustainable! You have to weigh the pros and cons for you and what makes sense! But overall, Reformation gets an A from me in their extended sizes!
You. Are. Stunning!
