We had a very low key, yet lovely weekend. I whipped up the most delicious holiday bark that was so easy (seriously, only four ingredients)! I made cute little gifts out of them, so I’m going to share the recipe either later today or tomorrow on here, if you need a last minute gift that’s affordable and simple. Last week, I focused a lot on back-end things for Simply Elsa, so I was ready to unplug over the weekend. We safely got together with some family on Saturday night and it was truly special. We took two COVID tests this week/weekend to be safe before seeing others (we’ve had no exposures) and all were negative. I think we can all agree the world feels particularly heavy right now with the recent surges over the last week, we’re personally boosted and doing what we can. On Sunday, we spent the day at my in-laws catching up on laundry (our machine officially bit the dust), and it was nice to just relax and be able to go outside throughout the day. The more time I spend around the places I grew up, the more I realize how much I like country-suburban living. I love our downtown living, but needless to say, I’m getting the itch to have a backyard of our own!
I only have a few more blog posts this week: a New Years Eve look, an easy holiday bark recipe, and some cozy at-home NYE style collages. I’ll be back between Christmas and New Years, but just wanted to say thank you for being here. If the holidays are a hard season for you, know my heart is with you. I hope we’re all able to stay safe and enjoy the holidays with loved ones.
