It’s the start of a new week, friends! Sunday Coffee is one of my absolute favorite series on this blog. I’m able to share a little bit of life and catch up with you, gather my favorite reads and articles from the week, and let you know where I’m shopping right now and why. It’s kind of like a brain dump of everything that I might not get a chance to post throughout the week. I decided to pivot the series from Sunday Coffee to Monday Coffee, because it feels like the perfect way to start the week together! It will also allow me to share a bit about my weekends in the catch up chat, since I tend to be a little more quiet on Instagram then. Without further ado, let’s get to it!
MONDAY CATCH-UP
The last week has been such a whirlwind. It was an abnormally busy, festive and exciting one, between lots of holiday activities, time with family, and announcing my blog news. I got lunch with a friend I hadn’t seen in a while because of the pandemic, and it felt so nice to just slow down and catch up in-person! I’ve been trying to get fresh air outside first thing every morning to feel the crisp air and sunlight. Easier said than done, and I’m thankful my schedule allows for this. I’m finding that it’s really helping me shake off the morning jitters and take on the day, so to speak. On Friday, Carly and I went into the city to check out Hill House’s pop-up, and it was such a fun day. But, I went into the day super anxious, I had slept only two hours and was so nervous about sharing that Simply Elsa was full time now. In the car ride into the city, I had to do some breathing exercises to say the least! I’m thankful for friends that I can be myself around, whether it’s with my weird jokes or when I’m working through impending moments of anxiety. After I shared, it reinforced just how incredible all of you are and how fortunate I am for you, and it was such a positive experience.
You guys overwhelmed me in the best way possible with so much love and support. I cannot thank you enough for all of the kind words and messages, I feel so lucky to have this incredible community. To be honest, the reason I was so nervous to share that I was blogging full time, is because anytime you share big news on the internet, even though this was celebratory and happy news, you might get a mix of responses. I’m grateful you guys are so supportive and some pretty amazing people. It was very important to me to be transparent with you about the transition. Mainly, I was excited and really believe we worked for this together! Secondly, if I began blogging on a full-time scale, but didn’t share that this was all I was doing, it would have painted an unrealistic picture of my life. So, I gave myself a few weeks, then shared the news, and I just feel so excited for us and what’s to come.
This week will be a little more normal for me, with a few more festive and family things going on. Without further ado, here are some good reads, sales and things from the week!
READS & PODCASTS
12 Holiday Foods from Trader Joe’s That Make Entertaining Easier – Via Real Simple – I’m always in the market for an inside scoop on TJ’s. For any TJ ‘s regular, or maybe you only head there once in a while, this list is super helpful in knowing what seasonal items are great for gatherings!
The Science Is In: Your Crafty Hobby Is Good for You – Via Martha Stewart – This article discusses a study done to see the benefits of picking up a new hobby, particularly a crafty one. The benefits are great my friends! I needlepoint and am picking up knitting, so I loved this read. I’m obsessed with Martha Stewart’s site in general, probably one of my favorites.
Small Space, Small Budget, Big Style – Via One Kings Lane – Guys, I live for a good home tour. If I could find an example of my ideal interior design for our apartment, it would be this! I love the mix of traditional meets contemporary, but the space is warm and feels collected. Nothing too fussy either, where do I move in?!
Carly Fiorina on Taking Tough Feedback – Via The Skimm – This read really resonated with me. I’m sensitive, criticism is hard for me, yet I’m incredibly eager for it at the same time knowing good can come from it. This podcast episode has strong points on processing criticism. If you don’t have time to listen, The Skimm has a summarized version of key takeaways.
SALES & GOOD FINDS
Usually I focus more on specific finds, but wanted to share great sales and gifting opportunities as we inch closer to Christmas!

40% Off Gifts to Give at Anthropologie – Anthropologie has the best gifts, whenever you give or receive one, it instantly feels like you’re transported to this artful, cozy place. They have a curated assortment of gifts that they are offering 40% off, ranging from home to clothing. The sale ends at midnight 12/13!
Last Minute Gifts for Everyone at Boden – Boden will forever be one of my favorites. They recently expanded their sizes too, not the full spectrum but a great start. They have a beautiful curated collection of gift guides by person (for kids, for her, for him etc) that will arrive in time for the holiday!
Up to 20% off Lighting, Drapery and Wall, 40% off Holiday at Ballard Designs – Ballard is a go-to for me when it comes to home. They have great lighting and mirrors, so this sale is an awesome one. If you’re still decorating or maybe need a few festive gifts, all holiday is 40% off, too.

Hi Elsa – I discovered you on TikTok and now I’m reading your blog (since I’m taking a social media break in december). I’m really happy for you to become a full time blogger and I can’t wait to read your blog along the way. Have a great day 🙂
Great reading your blog today! I especially loved the “Small Space, Big Style” segment. Given I’ve downsized into a townhouse, I’m always looking for ideas on how to maximize small spaces. Thank you for sharing the link to the OKL article.
Hey Elsa! Do you still do this series?? I miss it! I don’t have Instagram so I can’t follow you there. Would love if you brought the series back to the blog!
