Sweater (c/o), Similar Regular Sweater Here, Similar Plus Sweater Here, Boots, Beret
Is there anything more classic than a great fisherman sweater? They look great with everything. Whether you style one with denim and duck boots, with leggings and loafers, or over a button down, it always ties things together. I have two cream colored ones and find myself wearing them weekly. I used to think they were too bulky for my figure, but I was so wrong! Yes, fisherman sweaters are a little denser than the average knit, but it’s a style that looks good on everyone. The key for me, was just figuring out how to style it. The sweater I‘m wearing is in stock in xs, s, xxl and 2x! Here is the other sweater I have, I also love this plus option, and this cute striped one comes in regular and plus.
Let’s chat fisherman sweaters! They are denser due to the style of the knitting, but they are not heavy, at all! Most will keep you warm as can be without looking like you are heading into the arctic. Fisherman sweaters are traditionally not too bulky and not too thin, they are usually just right. I find that for my curvy figure, fisherman sweaters look best when paired with a slimmer pant. Whether it be skinny jeans, leggings, or straight leg pants, the slimmer leg offsets the less form fitting, knit nature of a fisherman sweater. I keep everything else simple, but add fun pops of color either in my hat, my scarf, or my shoes. I think this particular cream colorway looks great with white, blue, black and denim. It is so versatile!
I find that the key in styling anything with curves is all about balance. If you have a busier top or even a chunky fisherman sweater, balance it with simple jeans, pants or a skirt. With a curvy figure, high-waisted anything is great. I like to also wear high-waisted pieces with the sweater, and pull up the hem so it sits a bit higher on my waist. I think it looks so cute and shows off your figure more! I never hide my curves, ever. I embrace them and remind myself that I am allowed to love my style as much as the next gal. We all have bodies that are our own and are beautiful. Something important to remember this season is to wear what sparks joy, and allow yourself to embrace your inner confidence, because THAT is what makes an outfit.
