Leggings c/o, sweater, flats c/o (10% off with code SIMPLYELSA10), headband
This year, I think Thanksgiving will look a bit different for everyone! For us, there is no large family gathering, but I still want to look and feel cute. For Thanksgiving, we’re safely heading down to stay with my in-laws in a warmer climate, and we’re having a turkey dinner with my parents the week prior here in chilly New Jersey. I know I want to wear my faux-leather leggings with a sweater for our plans in NJ. So, I thought I’d share how I am styling them in a way that is comfortable yet polished!
My goal was to elevate the leggings while staying comfortable. The formula is simple: longer sweater to elevate the leggings, and easy but dressy accessories to give a special touch and tie things together. These Spanx faux-leather croc leggings are EVERYTHING. I used to think I wasn’t cool enough for the leather legging phenomenon, or that they wouldn’t work on me. But, I was wrong!
The leggings look great on everyone and you can totally add a classic twist. The croc style is a black-brown color and the shine is actually pretty subtle. I get my standard Spanx size and they go up to a 3x (I personally size up one in Spanx, but many choose their normal size). They are intentionally tight, but they have a ton of stretch and are insanely comfortable.
I knew I wanted a slightly longer sweater to wear with the leggings. I think when the waistband and hip areas on leggings are covered, they just look like normal pants! I went with my tried and true supersoft turtleneck in a grey (on sale!). It’s not quite a tunic length, but it’s long enough to cover the waistband. This turtleneck is a really good price point for the quality, and it’s timeless. The arms are a little oversized, but it feels cozy, and it’s nothing a simple cuff couldn’t fix. I get my normal size in it, and if you want a fitted look, I would size down.
To make things sleek but also keep it comfy, I chose a point flat and a dressier headband. My go-to flats from Margaux have foam padding and come in wide widths. The point is so feminine and I think the point toe dresses up the legging more than a round toe flat would. You can use code SIMPLYELSA10 for 10% off your Margaux order! Lastly, my black satin headband as a fancy finishing touch.
I also styled the classic black faux-leather leggings 4 ways with Nora a few months ago. You can check it out here! We’re planning on doing a holiday version, so stay tuned. I hope that whatever your plans are, that you and your loved ones have a happy, healthy and safe Thanksgiving!
