I absolutely love holiday style, it just makes me feel happy and excited for the season. I will say, it feels like there is a slightly limited window of wear when it comes to holiday-centric pieces, so I really like to find tartan or plaid items that I can easily wear multiple ways. I also think that versatile pieces make getting dressed so much easier! Enter this plaid blazer from Talbots. The ultimate understated statement piece for the holidays!
There’s something about a blazer that instantly makes me feel so pulled together. It’s kind of my comfort piece, and when it comes to layering, I think it’s the ultimate finishing touch that goes with everything from denim and leggings to dresses and skirts. I’m absolutely obsessed with this red plaid blazer from Talbots. I love the cut and how it’s not too long, I’m all about the long blazers (believe me I have many lol), but this length is so timeless and will always be in. The fit is also fantastic, I have broad shoulders and had enough room to comfortably layer while it still felt fitted and feminine. I went with a 16 regular here. So, I wanted to style this blazer two ways in head to toe Talbots for you this season – easily taking it from day to night!
DAY: EASY & EFFORTLESS WITH DENIM & A SWEATER
I’m all about denim, all day, everyday. I think denim can be easily dressed up or down when paired with the right pieces. Here, I layered the blazer over a simple, fitted ribbed turtleneck and styled it with my favorite curve-friendly jeggings in black. For a little holiday sparkle, I wore these fun flats that are so comfy. To keep the look casual, I added a cute pom pom hat and cable knit scarf. This look is easy and effortless for daytime but feels polished and oh so festive. This is ideal for brunch with the girls, holiday activities or simply feeling holly jolly around town.
NIGHT: A LITTLE FANCY & CHIC WITH A DRESS & PUMPS
To take the plaid blazer to night, simply add in your favorite little black dress (in this case, this Talbots one is so cute with the velvet bow details) and black pumps. I fell in love with this insanely comfortable shift dress for a few reasons. 1, it’s great for curves or plus sized bodies, the silhouette is lovely and the stretch makes things super easygoing. 2, the velvet bow detail adds the perfect holiday touch! To tie in the velvet and dress things up just a bit more, I styled the look with this pearl detail clutch. The plaid blazer as a top layer instantly elevates the look and makes it feel festive and is a little different than your typical nighttime look. I love it! Perfect for a holiday party or night out.
