Hey guys! Elsa here. When friends or family come over, I love offering a specialty cocktail! Cocktails are a great and easy way to play into the seasons, giving a nod to Fall spices and themes. Today, I am going to show you how to craft a fall cocktail any autumn lover is sure to sip on. I never get too daring when making a cocktail, the more you mix the more you risk it being a total disaster (trust me on that one).
We’re going to make a refined, hard apple cider (one that is feminine, looks chic in a glass and doesn’t come in an angry orchard bottle). You can serve this cocktail at brunch or in the evenings and the vodka can be substituted for champagne to create a mimosa. I adapted this cocktail recipe from Set the Table’s Bourbon Apple Cider which was absolutely delicious. If you haven’t checked out Rachael yet, you should!
As far as presentation goes, I pre-make a few glasses at a time and set them on a tray for people to grab easily. A plate or platter works well too! This allows me to spend more time with my guests and less time at the bar (and looks super chic). I did this last Christmas with a pomegranate martini and it was a huge hit! This version will taste like Fall and, in a few simple steps, you’ll be your very own mixologist.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
1 jug Organic apple cider
Tito’s Potato Vodka
1 tbsp Cinnamon
1 tbsp Nutmeg
1 tsp Brown Sugar (can omit)
1 Orange
Bundle of Rosemary Sprigs
WHAT YOU’LL DO
1. Take your spices and brown sugar, mix them together in a pinching bowl.
2. I use the ratio of 2.5 cups of cider with 4 shots of vodka and 1 tablespoon of spice mix to make 4 drinks (one shot per drink). If your shaker is not large enough to accommodate, you can cut the ratio in half and do a couple rounds.
3. Shake and serve over ice. Squeeze one orange slice for a little zest.
4. Rub your glass rims with orange and spice mix and garnish with your Rosemary.
Now, sit, sip and enjoy!
Hi! Giving the new blog all the love and comments today because it is a special day for it! These sound sooo yummy, and I will be making these for Friendsgiving, but maybe the champagne version to be a bit more festive!!
