I am beyond excited for today’s post, it is all about Fall staples! Pops of color are my favorite the Summer, but once September comes around, my wardrobe really sticks to camel, navy and neutrals. In the colder months, there is a lot more layering going on compared to Summer. So, I want to make sure that my layers can mix and match with ease. When Talbots released their September collection, I was FLOORED at how cute and how FALL everything was. One of the reasons I swear by Talbots, is that they’ve been making extended or plus sizes for decades. So when it comes to fit and proportions, they really have it figured out! My biggest goal is to help you find pieces that are timeless, curve-friendly and spark confidence. These pieces are just that.
I wanted to share how I style a classic camel Ribknit V-Neck Sweater and jeans two ways for Fall in what has become our new normal. My thought process behind these two looks was pretty simple! Practical yet stylish pieces for Fall, that could be comfortable at home, and chic while on the go with a few outer layers and accessories! The camel sweater is classic. It runs true to size and is not itchy. As we know, I love their jeggings. The rinse wash is a nice darker hue that makes the camel pop. They are not leggings, they read more like denim, and definitely feel just like a super stretchy pair of jeans. Love them. So here we go!
Also, Talbots is offering a buy one get 50% off one item! It’s a great opportunity to grab some Fall staples.
ELEVATED FOR EVERYDAY:
WITH A VEST, SILK SCARF AND LOAFERS
For an easy everyday look, whether you want to just feel put together at home, or are running errands or meeting up with a friend, this is it! I layered the Diamond Quilted Vest over the sweater. The vest is fleece-lined and super flattering! It comes in a variety of colors and I already have the navy on my wishlist lol. Not wearing white after Labor Day is a thing of the past, so I opted for the ivory because it goes with everything. To elevate things without compromising comfort, I added the Silk Square Scarf. There’s something about a silk scarf that just ties everything together, and I love the color pattern in this one! Great quality for the price point, too. For my flats, I went with their wide width Francesca Driving Moc. These are so comfortable and come in a variety of widths. Like most loafers they need a little breaking in, but after the first wear I was feeling good!
Wearing a 1x in the vest and sweater and a 9w in the loafers.
POLISHED FOR AN OUTING:
WITH A QUILTED COAT, BOOTIES AND HAT
Okay, this look has to be my favorite! Even though we are all still practicing social distancing, we are able to safely apple pick or have lunch outside. This is perfect for any outing, whether it be a simple walk to a fun Fall activity. For a more substantial layer, I paired a Long Quilted Coat in an olive hue with the camel v-neck sweater. This coat is everything. From the plaid lining, to the pockets and silhouette, it is one of my favorite Talbots finds in recent years! The quality is fabulous, too. For finishing touches, I cuffed my denim to show off these Dakoka booties (they are embossed leather to create a croc effect). In any boots I size up a half size for comfort and extra room. Get ready to see these boots all the time, because I’m not sure I want to wear any others! Last but not least, a little pattern mixing with plaid and this leopard detail on this Calf Hair Trim Fedora.
Wearing a 16w in the jacket, 9.5 in boots and o/s in hat.

I love how each look is so different and special yet you are wearing the same classic, timeless camel sweater in all. I would love to adopt each outfit!
A camel sweater with leopard flats is my power outfit! Love all these looks 💗
Very nice styling. Love your blog!
thank you Beth!!
All of these outfits are great, but that last one is dreamy!! I’m also loving those jeggings. I’ve been looking for a good, stretchy pair with a nice dark rinse!
yes! these leggings are the best. I sometimes get petite, too if I want a more cropped look.
